C’est fou comme l’actualité cette année nous donne de l’inspiration pour ce rendez-vous hebdomadaire des Samedis en Musique…

Comment passer à côté de Prince cette semaine…

Je crois que j’ai découvert cet artiste d’une façon tout à fait particulière… avec Batman ! Eh oui, avec l’homme chauve-souris en personne ! En 1989 je n’avais même pas 10 ans et Batman de Tim Burton est passé par là. Je pense que je n’ai regardé le film que quelques années plus tard, je ne me souviens plus bien… mais ça doit être d’ailleurs le premier Tim Burton que j’ai vu. Et la bande-originale de ce film était en partie due à cet artiste qu’était Prince.

Je me souviens tout à fait en revanche avoir eu le 45 tours de la Batdance : une pochette noire avec juste le logo de Batman dessus, et de l’avoir écoutée souvent.

Donc non, ce n’est pas la meilleure chanson de Prince, elle est d’ailleurs plus musicale que chantée, et je lui préfère largement Purple Rain (comme beaucoup sûrement), mais c’est la chanson qui m’a fait découvrir cet artiste en même temps que je découvrais Tim Burton… et ce n’est pas rien !
